Several teeth treatment

In order to prevent bone loss and further movement of the teeth and jaw, a gap involving several teeth should be closed rapidly. The number of implants needed will depend on a case by case basis. A major advantage of implant borne bridges is that healthy neighbouring teeth do not have to be ground. Aesthetically, implant borne bridges are a better option as they end optimally at the gums in most cases.

Example 1:
Erin was born with congenitally missing teeth – the front left incisors and one premolar. This is an unfortunate condition which can affect some people and has a genetic origin. This has meant that she had a denture all through out her childhood.

As with the common inconveniences of wearing a denture, it was often loose, unaesthetic, she had to take it out at night and often food would get caught under the denture. The worst thing was that she is only in her twenties and at that age you don’t expect to have a young lady wearing a denture. Three implants were placed to give her back her smile and confidence!

Example 2:
Amy had both anorexia and bulimia as a young teenager resulting in decay and erosion which led to loss of her front teeth. For years she hid her smile and many of her friends and family thought she was still unhappy even though she had gotten over her anorexia. She had learnt to hold a frown on her face to hide her horrible teeth.
Amy had implants and an all-ceramic bridge fitted to restore her front teeth and allow her not only to chew but to flash a smile from ear to ear. The treatment time took about 3 months and with the help of her general dentist she had the remaining back teeth fixed to complete her treatment.

Example 3:
Kellie had failing lower and upper front teeth. She lost these teeth due to periodontal (gum) disease. Her symptoms were bleeding gums, loose teeth, and inability to eat due to the mobility of her teeth, and most importantly the poor appearance of her front teeth did not allow her to smile. Consequently, she was unhappy and never felt like smiling. We provided a solution of five implants with a three month integration time before an all ceramic (non-metal) bridge was constructed to give her back her smile. She is all smiles now.

Example 4:
Katarina, 59, who previously suffered from poor oral health, had multiple teeth implants to replace her four front teeth. The solution here was to place two implants with a bridge, it is important to note that patients need not necessarily have an implant per missing tooth. Katarina was impressed by the look and feel of her new front teeth and was surprised at the lack of pain with this procedure

Example 5:
Jo, 61, required multiple implants to replace most of his teeth worn away from excessive teeth grinding all his life. The solution presented to Jo was to have a combination of single tooth implants and multiple teeth (bridge) implants. Jo is glad that he is able to enjoy his food in the latter part of his life without having to wear a denture.
