FAQ

Q Where are Institute for Dental Implants based?
We are based at 45 Rowntree Street, Balmain, NSW Australia.
Q Can I claim the cost of implants from my Private Health Insurance?
Yes, depending on your level of cover. If you have private health insurance for dental benefits, please bring your private health insurance card with you so that we can submit a benefits claim on your behalf. However, the gap between our account and the anticipated health fund benefits must be settled at the end of the appointment. We have the HICAPS system which allows you to electronically claim your rebate online without having to visit your health fund office
Q How do I settle my account?
We accept all major credit cards, cash, cheques or EFTPOS. We regret that there is no “cash out” service for EFTPOS. Accounts for IV Sedation must be settled by cheque or cash to the attending specialist on the day of the procedure.
Q What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours notice. This courtesy on your part will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient.
Q What implant brands are available at Institute for Dental Implants?
We use Nobel Biocare implant system. They are made in Sweden and are one of the best implant systems on the market due to the number of independent studies/research undertaken on the longevity of the implants.
Q How do I get in contact with Institute for Dental Implants?
Contact us on (02) 98101666 or complete and inquiry form and we will get back to you within 48 hours.
Q I have missing teeth, my local dentist does implants, what is the difference between going to my local dentist or coming to the Institute for Dental Implants.
Ultimately it is your decision however, key factors (other than price) that you should be satisfied with are:

- the experience of your dental surgeon;
- the continual implant training received by your local dentist;
- the implant system that they are using; and
- the post operative care that they can offer.

At the Institute, we teach dental implants, we are key opinion leaders for dental implants by the industry and we have placed thousands of implants in the last decade. Know you are in good hands at the Institute for Dental Implants. Expect nothing less for your health.
Q: How much do dental implants cost?
 We know that cost is a big question for anyone considering dental work. The truth is, only your dental surgeon can determine the cost for your specific treatment. It depends on the kind of treatment you need, how long it takes, the number of dental implants to be inserted, the type of restoration chosen and the dental laboratory work that is required to complete the case. Additional costs may arise if the bone also has to be built up to support the implant. The full cost is explained in your first consultation and confirmed with a written treatment plan.
Q: Does insurance cover dental implants? (Australia Only)
If you have dental insurance that covers major dental treatment, dental implants should qualify.
Q: How else can I get help with the cost of the treatment? (Australia Only)
There is a government rebate that is available to a taxpayer whose eligible net medical expenses in the year of income exceed $1,500 (net of Medicare and any health fund refund). The amount of the rebate is 20% of the excess over $1,500 but cannot exceed the amount of tax otherwise paid. The rebate is claimed when the patient lodges their annual income tax return.
Q: Will I able to eat whatever I want afterwards?
Once the treatment is complete, patients should be able to eat a normal healthy diet with little or no difficulty.
Q: How long will it take?
A range of techniques are available. Usually implant treatment requires a number of appointments over a period of several months. In some cases implant work can be undertaken and completed in a much shorter period.
Q: How long will the implants lasts?
Once treatment is complete, a routine of careful dental hygiene and regular check-ups should ensure that the implants last several years.
Q: Am I too old for implant treatment?
There is no upper age limit for patients to undergo implant treatment provided they continue to enjoy reasonable good health.
Q: Is the treatment painful?
Patients are often surprised at how little discomfort they experience during and after implant treatment.
