Upper/Lower Jaw Treatment

When all teeth are missing or need to be replaced, a fixed bridge anchored to dental implants is the best permanent solution.

Often with time with a removable denture, there is a deterioration of fit with loose and instability. This is due to the bone resorbtion that continues throughout life, and is often not explained which can lead to inability or difficulty in wearing dentures later in life due to the often resorbed bony ridges that dentures sit on.
With the loss of teeth and bone, often there is deterioration in facial appearance as the bone resorbs. This then gives an aged look. An advantage of dental implants is that once placed they can preserve the bone and enhance the facial appearance as well as giving you the confidence to smile and chew
It is possible to replace a full jaw with four or more dental implants and a fixed bridge that results in a permanent, stable and high esthetic solution.
Example 1:
Margaret was referred by a dentist in Camden for her complex problems to do with her remaining teeth.

The upper teeth were all removed and 6 dental implants were placed. She was temporized with an immediate temporary bridge, and following a healing period of three months was fitted with a Procera Implant Bridge. This is the latest state of the art CAD-CAM milled titanium bridge that comes from Sweden.

As you can see from the picture, this returned a broad smile to her face

Example 2:
Wendy suffered from dentures from an early age with a full complete denture on the upper jaw and a lower denture with failing teeth on the lowers
Her treatment consisted of the removal of the remaining lower teeth
This treatment was performed to over 700 dentists in Mumbai, India as a live satellite feed from Sydney performed by Dr Christopher Ho for the Nobel Biocare World Tour 2006. A successful and beautiful result was achieved for Ciara and she had the smiles and a glass of champagne to finish
followed by immediate implant placement and an immediate temporary bridge. She did not have to proceed with a lower denture as a temporary measure as all the procedures were done concurrently reducing the number of times she had to visit and reducing the cost.

With the success of the lower reconstruction she then decided to have the upper jaw completed in exactly the same manner. She was a live patient in a teaching program that Dr Ho presented and the dentists participating were thoroughly impressed by the procedures demonstrated.
