| The dental implant replaces the function of the tooth root and transmits the chewing force from the tooth crown to the jaw bone. This natural stress keeps the
jaw bone vital so that it does not recede. However, a new tooth is not only intended to fulfil a natural function it should also be indistinguishable in appearance from the neighbouring teeth, especially at the front of the mouth. Fixed implant borne teeth not only look like your own teeth, they also feel like them. The implant, crown and gums work together in perfect harmony.
| The dental implant replaces the lost tooth root and acts as a post for the implant crown. Grinding the neighbouring teeth is not necessary so healthy tooth substance is preserved

| Example 1:
| Amanda suffered a blow to her front tooth playing sport. The prognosis was that the fractured tooth was hopeless and was not salvageable. Her fractured tooth was removed and on the same day she had “immediate implant placement” ie immediately loaded with a temporary crown. At no time did she have to have a toothless smile. This allowed her to smile with confidence from the first day she had the implants placed. The temporary crown was then replaced with a ceramic crown to give her a natural smile that blended into her existing teeth.

Ciara suffered a fall where she traumatized her front teeth. She ended up losing her upper right lateral incisor and broke the front teeth, along with suffering other facial injuries.
| She had a single tooth implant to replace this missing tooth followed by all ceramic crowns on the front teeth.
